“At its core, The Rock Family Band offers recognition, validation, and kindness to those who feel different. It's a celebration of individuality, family, and finding your place in the music - whatever your tune may be.” - Laura O'Flanagan (Children's Books Ireland)

“A celebration of individuality, family love and feeling validated.” - Jill Bennett (Red Reading Hub)

“The Rock Family Band is a vibrant, high-energy picture book that celebrates music, individuality and the sometimes noisy - but always loving - nature of family. Robert Tregoning brings his trademark warmth and rhyme to this rollicking story. Laura’s illustrations are packed with the joyful contrast of Sam’s calm and his family’s chaos. This book encourages empathy, celebrates quiet confidence and reminds young readers (and grown-ups, too) that whilst families can be wild, they’re also wonderfully supportive when it counts.” - Clare Helen Welsh (Books That Help)

“A hilarious book about a brilliantly chaotic family rock band, and their youngest, Sam, who prefers classical music. This vibrant, rhyming book encourages us to celebrate our differences while also finding ways of working together to create harmony — or, rather, harmonies!” - Inclusive Books for Children

Meet the Rocks.

Dad is a rock guitarist, Pops is the singer, Liv is the drummer, and Bo is keyboardist and writes the lyrics. Oh, and Nan and the dog are in the band too. It's a household of big shoes, big hair, and GLAM ROCK. Except for the youngest child, Sam. Sam is a flautist who likes peace, quiet and classical music. He doesn't feel like he fits in and he's dreading his end-of-year school recital. Can he trust his family to sit and listen?

But when stage fright hits, maybe Sam's rocking, grooving, clanging family might be just what he needs.
